Zooey Claire Deschanel was born on the 17th of January in 1980 to an actress and a Hollywood cinematographer. With parents already in the entertainment industry, Zooey had no trouble placing herself on the Hollywood map. But to prove to the entertainment world that she was not dependent on her parents, Zooey began her acting career by portraying various roles in numerous Independent film productions, and from there, she was known as the Indie Queen.

Asides from her acting achievements, Zooey also has talent in singing. She has been part of several jazz and cabaret bands and performances and sang at various events. Recently, after meeting M. Ward while working on 'The Go Getter', Zooey and M. Ward together collaborated an Indie album titled 'Volume One', and the duo calls themself She and Him. With their success at functions, She and Him will be touring in the future in North America, and hopefully spread their music world-wide.
